OSHA Safe and Sound Week Participation

Perry Engineering participated in the annual OSHA Safe and Sound Week, held August 10-16, 2020. This is a nationwide event to recognize successful safety programs and get employees more involved. Each day that week we incorporated discussion of a specific safety topic into the daily pre-work meeting with employees, and the weekly safety meeting topic for that week was “Why is Safety Important to Me?”. Getting employees actively involved in safety on a daily basis is the best way to achieve a successful safety program. Some other ways that we get employees involved is through extensive safety training, inclusion in the Safety Committee, Stop Work Authority, a safety suggestion program, Safe Employee of the Month awards, and participation in incident reviews, among other things. This has helped create an award winning safety program.
